Adaliah Collins is a senior at Radford and co-editor of the newspaper "The RamPage." She has been on-and-off Oahu since she was a child, and has lived in Hawaii for 11 years. Her family has served in the US Army for 17 years.

She enjoys memes, listening to music, and drawing. When it comes to school, she enjoys Literature, Web Design, Newswriting, and AP US Government & Politics. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her dream of developing video games, becoming an English professor, or a psychologist (ignore the trump building in the back).

The Smarter Balanced Assessment is a standardized test distributed throughout 15 states and 1 U.S. territory to determine college course placement. For the 2015-2016 test, Radford students scored higher in mathematics than the state average by 5 percent. However, 35 percent did not meet the standard, 29 percent nearly met, 26 percent met, and 10 percent exceeded. 35 percent of students who did not meet the standard are more likely to be placed in remedial college mathematics courses, and the 29 percent that nearly met may be placed in introductory college mathematics courses.

Rings is a sequel Ringu, the 1998 award winning Japanese horror film, The Ring, and The Ring Two, starring award winning actress Naomi Watts. The 2017 horror film took a modern take on the story of Samara Morgan and a video that kills its viewers after 7 days if they do not make a copy of the film and show it to another person. Despite its attempt to live up to the films before it, it received a 6 percent by Rotten Tomatoes, being one of the worst rated films of 2017 thus far, along with Fifty Shades Darker. Benjamin Cooper (12) has been playing Pokemon Go since July 7.“This game has reignited my childhood,” he said. Cooper plays the game when he runs, averaging about two hours a day on the app. “I have made it to level 26 with ~950,000 overall experience I’m on team Instinct, with my highest Pokemon being a Combat Power 2731 Dragonite,” he said.

Pierce the Veil is an American post-hardcore band that originated from San Diego, California and formed in 2006. Even though they have been touring in the last few year, they have yet to release a new album (the last being “Collide With the Sky” which was released to the public in the summer of 2012). In March 2016, they have finally announced their new album, “Misadventures,” which will be available May 13.

The Walking Dead” is an interactive drama video game created by Telltale Games for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and smart phones. The mini-series features Michonne, a survivor of the apocalypse. Although some fans were not pleased with a shift in cast, it received positive reviews from IGN and Metacritic.

“The Jungle Book” is a remake of the animated adventure film that was originally released in 1967. It features many well-known celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, and Ben Kingsley. The film was praised by Rotten Tomatoes, receiving a rating of 94 percent.

Ellyn Dunford, Bruni Bradley, Kim Crutchfield, Rebecca White, and Colonel Peter Santa Ana of the United States Pacific Command Directors visited Radford High Schools Transition Center. Student facilitators shared how the center is run, and about their experiences in the program. During the third quarter alone, the school received 48 new students.
