Seniors Bond at Luau

Two hundred seniors took a day off from their classes to attend the Senior Luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie.

At a cost of $50-$60 per person, seniors gained admittance to a Polynesian-themed park and living museum, and were treated to a buffet dinner, and show.

Students were divided into ten separate groups, and during the day, they walked around the park and visited island villages. Groups watched live performances at the different villages, and even participated in hands-on activities, like making fire using a log and a stick.

“I met a whole bunch of seniors I never knew,” Alika Merck (12) said. “I enjoyed the company [senior classmates] around me.”

Seniors’ upcoming events include the junior-senior prom on April 2, their last blood drive on May 5, and commencement on May 20.
