Red Brigaders Finish Season Strong

At the 2013 “Trojan Bandfest” on Nov. 11, the band competed against Farrington, Campbell, Kapolei, Roosevelt, and Kamehameha marching bands. With a  first place in both Drum Major and Percussion, they had an overall, “good” performance.

On Nov. 2, the band competed at the Kamehameha Schools Tournament of Bands. Competing in their division were the Farrington, Kapolei, and Roosevelt marching bands. While the Rams earned an overall rating of “good,” the Red Brigaders took first place in drumline, fourth in color guard, and third in marching and maneuvering.

On Oct.  26, Radford’s “Red Brigade” Marching Band competed in the Double A division at the Kapolei Marching Band Fest against Farrington, Roosevelt, and Campbell.

Red Brigaders performed their show “X” which has six movements: X-Clamation, X-Celeration, X-Haustion, X- Aggeration, X-Ottic, and X-Plosion.

Overall, the band and color guard earned a second place finish following the Roughriders “superior” win. In the competition the Red Brigade placed first in drum major, second in general effect, music, and marching and maneuvering, and fourth in color guard.

After taking first place in both Kamehameha and Mililani Competitions for Drumline, marching instructor Cory Allen shaved his head after losing to a bet he made with the drumline.
