This year, Radford has enlisted the help of Tina Batara, a brand-new biology teacher. She has a background in chemistry and graduated from USC Santa Barbara and San Francisco State with degrees in Biology, Exercise Physiology, and Chemistry. Ms. Batara has taught at Hawaii Pacific University and University of San Francisco.
In a recent interview, Ms. Batara stated, “Radford so far looks like a great school, I love seeing all the administrators out, I love seeing kids that come to school early.”
She said, “I love learning about the programs Radford offers, the science department is awesome.”
Ms. Batara grew up in California where she went to college. Batara also worked in cancer research as well as other parts of the biotech industry.
“I worked with Palithosa Extract, which comes from a coral in Molokai. I also worked with Taxol in clinical trials before it was approved to treat women’s cancer. I used diagnostics to better pinpointing cancers so they could be treated better,” said Ms. Batara.
Overall, Ms. Batara hopes to create a lasting impact on her students.
