Winners and their schools will receive:

– 1st place in each category – $1,000
– 2nd place in each category – $500
– 3rd place in each category – $250
– Best of Show – An additional $1,000
– Best Middle School entry – $500
– Voters’ Choice – $500
• Recognition in aired television PSAs.
• Additional recognition in post-contest media interviews
and/or promotional pieces.

In conjunction with the Hawaii Meth Project, we will award a special prize to one PSA
that deals with meth use. And, in conjunction with MADD, we will award one prize to a
video that deals with underage drinking prevention. This year, the Domestic Violence
Action Center will also award a prize to one video dealing with family or dating violence.
There will also be a Voters’ Choice award. The public will have the opportunity to vote
online at hmsa.com for their favorite video from April 2 to April 13.

The HMSA Teen Video Awards Contest gives students the opportunity to create health
messages that reach and impact their peers. In the process, students will learn about the
video creation process, which includes script writing, video production, and copyright
and privacy laws.

Your help is needed to promote this educational contest in your school. The contest
entry deadline is March 5, 2012. For details, please visit hmsa.com/tva or call
