The Us I Never Got

Khia Ngo, Reporter

Your eyes were on her but mine were on you
I was here for you first but I came last
Her presence glowed bright and her mood never blue
The chance for us never came and we had past

As weeks had gone by my love never died
She made you laugh I watched you cry
I thought I wouldn’t even mind
But the more I looked it was a goodbye

A dark rain cloud shadowed over my head
A symphony of sorrow pranced around
I would lie awake and cry in my bed
I could not pick myself up from the ground

The us I had is something I cherish
The us I had is the thing that perished
