Voyage

Matt Mann, Contributor

Shrouded by the ground around me
A body I once knew
A lonely vessel, rests
How insipid a thought, a vapid delusion
The embryo a stranger
But the eyes seem so familiar
How distance, the journey takes me
From nesting nurture to darkest depths
How strange it is to be anything at all
How strange it is to recognize an unfamiliar face
How common to absorb the abnormal
For I am everyone, and everyone is me
