Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the newest game in the Deus Ex FPS/RPG series. The game is a prequel to the previous two, set in the near feature when biotech companies begin developing prosthetic limbs and organs. These augmentations are becoming popular but many people are worried about the ethical implications. The player uncovers a complex conspiracy involving FEMA, biotech companies, the government, and the Illuminati. The story is gripping and complex, and is easily the best part of the game.
The gameplay itself also excels. Unlike many modern FPS games, a great deal of thought has to be put into stealth and tactics. There are innumerable ways to accomplish any given objective. Its even possible to play the entire game without any bloodshed at all.
Some of the very few flaws include an ending that felt a little too rushed and occasional minor graphical bugs.
Overall, Human Revolution is a game that sets itself apart from today’s standard games. A gripping story and almost flawless gameplay make this a game not to be missed.
