The prolonged, hype-inducing wait to the conclusion of the battle between Thanos and the Avengers has come to an end. After the last film, we wondered what was next, if the vanished would come back, if there be more casualties, and how Captain Marvel fit into this mess. Now, all questions have been answered in this epic finale of our heroes last battle.

To recap a bit of what happened at the start of “the most ambitious crossover event in history,” Thor, Loki, and Hulk, are taking surviving Asgardians to Earth after their home, Asgard gets obliterated in events prior that happened in “Thor: Ragnarok”. All of a sudden they are met by Thanos who attacks their ship and steals the Tesseract that Loki kept hidden. Thanos’ master plan is to collect all six of the infinity stones for his ultimate weapon, the Infinity Gauntlet and bring balance to the universe, a.k.a. wiping out 50 percent of all life. Long story short, he succeeds. Snapping his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet, he effectively gets rid of 50 percent of life in the universe and most of the heroes in the process, except the original six Avengers and a few others. Thanos goes back to his home planet Titan, starts a new life on a farm, and lives peacefully after the horrific events that he caused, the end.

Endgame takes place after the events of Infinity War, but new revelations are made that are just insane. I had a blast watching the movie and just a whole bunch of good vibes in general. Marvel did a spectacular job, successfully blending the story with “Avengers: Infinity War” and now I’m left with a feeling of completeness, but also emptiness. The only thing I disliked about the movie is how some characters got little to no screen time and how they handled Captain Marvel’s character. She felt random and out of place to me,  I couldn’t tell if she was supposed to play a major role in the movie or not.

“Avengers: Endgame” has reached $2 billion in only in two weeks of being shown in theatres, record time. It’s now the second highest grossing movie of all time in the U.S. beating “Titanic” and taking previous record owner “Avatar” in just 11 days, while it took 47 days for the latter to get to $2.78 billion. It’s an impressive feat for the movie, accomplished through it’s excellent work at enticing its audience through years of lore building, with every protagonist from past movies being a part of the film.

Released in theatres April 26, 2019, Rated PG-13, “Avengers: Endgame” is the 22nd installment of the huge collection of movies that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “MCU” for short. It’s the final movie of the current phase, with “Spiderman: Homecoming” putting the final nail in the coffin. This essentially means that Marvel will keep making more superheroes movies in the new upcoming phase, while older ones will be put to rest.

Endgame is a special movie because it wraps up everything in a neat package making room for more to come. It shows everything that the MCU has brought us up until now. From “Iron Man” that came out in 2008 to 2019s “Captain Marvel.” All these movies we have watched and invested our time and interest, come to one conclusion. Even if you only watched a few Marvel Movies, you still can’t help but be blown away by all the things happening in the movie. Seeing all our favorite heroes working together is just amazing.

The movie has the final committed cameo of the late Stan Lee in all his glory. It’s a major blow to the heart, realizing that we won’t see him pop up in any of the new movies that are to come, as his authentic self but we shall always forever remember him for the great legacy he’s left behind.
