500 Days of Summer

“500 Days of Summer” premiered in 2009, even though it’s a classic, it’s one of those movies that everyone should watch because of its message on the kind of relationships we should have in life.

“500 Days of Summer” is not your typical romance film, with a boy meets girl scenario and they live happily ever after. Instead, this is a story about a one-sided love that turns into something more optimistic.

Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) a greeting-card writer has a relationship with his co-worker Summer (Zooey Deschanel). The relationship is short-lived, with Tom heavily affected by the breakup. He does not understand why things turned out the way they did.

“500 days of summer” is not actually 500 days of the season summer but the days of the beginning and end of their relationship, with the film focusing on Tom’s perspective and his thoughts and feelings throughout the entire 500 days.

When watching the movie, you think the romance is pretty generic like you see in an everyday romance film, but it wasn’t until I watched the end of the movie that it really showed me the true meaning of the movie.
